Happy Rush Day!

It’s 2-1-12, so here’s a salute to the Canadian band. Neil Peart and Geddy Lee have both revolutionized the approach to their instruments, while Peart’s lyrics have made a compelling case that hard rock can address topics deeper than the D&D Players Handbook approach beloved by so many other heavy acts. The fact that Peart’s lyrics frequently express a libertarian perspective is a bonus.

So thanks for nearly 40 years of music that is outside the ordinary. And in tribute, here’s one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Hooray! Thanks for reminding me, I would have hated to have gone through today without listening to any Rush…
