My kids have written papers in which they are analyzing song lyrics. One paper is about a song that mentions (by first name only) Hank Williams, Sr. and Janis Joplin (specifically mentioning her performance of “Me and Bobby McGee”). It is abundantly clear that the kid has no idea who either of these people are, and why Joplin is associated with the song.
I think I’ll jam a fork into my eyes now.
“Stella McCartney’s dad was in a band?”
“Stella McCartney’s dad was in a band?”
It was called “Wings.”
Did you buy that CD at The Gap???
