The Czar Fisks the Prez…

A lovely paragraph-by-paragraph response to last night’s Presidential Performance Art may be found in the lair of the Gormogons.

Well, they saved me a little reading when I got to this line “On the plus side, it is refreshing to hear the President acknowledge he is the C-in-C, as opposed to apologizing for it.” Let me know when they want to have a serious discussion rather than just take shots based on their ideology.

It’s my opinion that Bush is the worst president in our history. It’s a misstatement or twisting of what people might construe as a fact for me to say that Bush constantly denigrated atheists in his speeches. Their statement is more akin to the latter.

First, I would say that you apparently missed the Fillmore and Buchanan chapters in Mrs. Ray’s U.S. History class back in Boone County. Secondly, even the Czar allowed the President the occasional rhetorical flourish (See para. 6).

There are certain people who scour content for something they don’t like, and then use that to justify throwing out anything else you might have to say, facts and all — based on the fact that they don’t like an opinion.

Wow, the Czar found it refreshing to hear Obama acknowledging that he is Comander in Cheif. So I don’t have to consider any other points he might have had. I am absolved. Therefore, Bush is the worst President, EVAH.

I find that kind of “argument” to be a mechanism to avoid a serious discussion by pretending to take some sort of pre-emptive, self-ascribed moral high ground.

“I don’t have a good argument, therefore I shall find haughty-sounding reasons why I should not have to engage in one.”
