    I’ve always thought it was telling that when most colleges and universities seek to market, promote, or “re-brand” themselves, they hire outside professionals and almost never turn to profs and students in their own business and marketing departments…

    What Jeff said. (Or they hire $75K “committees” and then tell departments who lost an instructor to retirement that they have to replace them with an adjunct)

    It’s moderately sickening the degree to which b-schools get fawned over on a lot of campuses, and how the rules that apply to Arts and Sciences don’t always seem to apply to them (like committeework loads, and teaching loads, and lots of other things)
