For End-of-Year Charity…

There are always more causes worth supporting than we have ability to give. However, if you’re looking, I’d like to recommend:

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society — my Mom was a long time member and telephone counselor.

The American Cancer Society — my Dad beat cancer three times, and maybe you could help someone else do it as well.

And Parents of Murdered Children, which has expanded from its original name to support the friends and families of anyone who has died by violent crime.

My mother once told our pastor she didn’t feel like a very good church member, because she couldn’t be active and didn’t have much money. His response? “You pray for us, don’t you?” If you can’t afford any other donation to the causes above, I’m sure your prayers would be welcome as well.

Merry Christmas.
