A Good Day for Some New Music

As we coast into the weekend, the Intertubes blessed me with some cool new/upcoming releases. Most immediately, there’s a new album, All is More than Both, from Jason Plumb and the Willing, smart popsters from the Canadian prairies (Regina, SK, to be precise). Here are a couple of tastes. The first single is called “Losin'”, and it would have fit nicely on an album from Jason’s earlier band, the Waltons. The song also features a guest appearance from Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson.

But I also adore this one, called “Naturally.” The video isn’t as high concept as, say, the stuff from OK Go, but it makes me smile, and besides — a baby!

All is More than Both is available on iTunes, and should be out on CD in the near future.

Meanwhile, I also got stoked today to discover that Translator — one of my favorite bands — is releasing its first new album since 1986. From the small clip in the article, they haven’t lost a step, and it just might be possible that a review will be in the offing before long.

All told, it makes for a good day.

I think Naturally sounds a bit more like the Waltons to me. Both good tunes, tho.
