One Man’s Meat is Another Man’s Persian

There’s an interesting article at Foreign Policy by Karim Sadjadpour, discussing the sexual underpinnings and quirks of post-revolutionary Iran. There’s nothing really new here in a big picture sense, but some of the particulars are memorable, and the piece serves as a useful reminder that those who think the US is a GOP victory away from The Handmaid’s Tale don’t have a clue about what repression really is.

  1. Just because the country won’t turn to Iranian-style repression with a GOP presidential victory does not mean there are not ample reasons to avoid that prospect at all costs.

A spirited rebuttal to an argument I didn’t make. I simply observed there is a difference between real repression and oh, I don’t know, a ginned-up “War on Women.”
