Dennis Miller has been one of my favorite stand-up comics for a long time, not least because he could never be accused of dumbing his work down. Granted, sometimes the cascade of subreferences can get a little wearying, but he’s got a distinctive voice and he’s maintained it throughout his career.
So he gets the QotD today, via Twitter:
I find it much easier to believe in a God who lives up in the clouds than I do a fed govt. that spends money wisely.
I’ve got nothing to add really, except that I love DM too!
What’s the emoticon for rolling one’s eyes again?
Try :Hey, it’s only funny if I agree: (or as I like to call it, the Jon Stewarticon).
I’m not quite sure how the economic model of “Dennis Miller” works, but obviously it does — very, very well.
His wife even has her own blog — http://slimpaley.com/about-slim/
I find it impossible to believe in a God up in the clouds, and very difficult to believe in a federal government that spends money wisely. Not a good comparison for rationalists, I’m afraid.
Which of course is why it’s comedy. Except for the Mad Dog, because Statism is his religion. π
