Something Old, Something New

One of my favorite acts of the 1990s was the Canadian quartet Moxy Früvous. I disagreed with a lot of their politics, but I’ve never let that get in the way of liking their music. (Remember Mondo’s Law: If your life isn’t bigger than your politics, you’re doing one of them wrong.) The band folded some years back, with the members following various other paths, from Jian Ghomeshi’s work for the CBC to Mike Ford’s children’s songs about Canadian history.

However, three-fourths of the group (everyone but Ghomeshi) have reunited for a fake mid-60s/British Invasion band called The Cocksure Lads. I discovered this about a half-hour ago, and a quick YouTube search brought me to this live performance from last year. Me likey.

I’ll be buying their album in a few minutes. Perhaps you will as well.
