“It Happened Long Ago in the New Magic Land”

I’m going to be scrambling around a bit this week; my brother’s final sentencing is tomorrow, and I have some other stuff to tend to as well, so posting may be light. However, I think today is a good day for one of my guilty pleasures.

Yeah, I know he’s always been a kind of cartoonish figure, and I know that if anything, he’s now kind of carried that to some sort of Andy Kaufman-esque anti-comedy level. But for a nice chunk of the 1970s, Ted Nugent had a very high fun-to-minute ratio, and this is my favorite song of his. What kind of lunacy tells us “the Indian and the buffalo existed hand in hand”? (“Uh, Mr. Nugent, sir? Buffalo don’t have han[the sentence is terminated by the thwipSHOONK of a Nugent arrow]”)

So check your brain at the door, laugh hard, and enjoy the story of “the leader of the land, baby (oh mah gawd)/ The Great White Buffalo (Look OUT! Look OUT!)”

I saw this tour at the Chicago Stadium.
