Music for A Christmas Eve

Mrs. M is headed to the gym (which closes at noon) and the Spawn is still asleep. I’m in the living room, listening to Skeeter Davis on the “Willie’s Roadhouse” honky-tonk station. When the Spawn wakes up, we’ll wrap Mrs. M’s gifts — as the Spawn is far more dextrous than I am, she’s our only shot at making the gifts presentable. I’ll also probably pick up some egg nog today — ’tis the season, after all.

Meanwhile, Brendan Stewart has been putting together a list of his favorite Christmas rock songs at Shabby Road. You’ll find some pretty well known ones and a couple that even I would call obscure. Alas, the qualifier that they have to be rock does exclude the magnificence of Red Sovine, but that may be just as well.

If you’re traveling, be safe. If you aren’t, be comfortable. Whatever you do, may it be a blessing to you and to others, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
