Heroes Con Recap: Day 1

The Spawn and I loaded up Mrs. M’s Good Car and headed up to Charlotte yesterday for our annual pilgrimage to Heroes Con. After getting settled into our genuinely posh hotel room and letting Mrs. M know we had made it, we wandered down the street to the Convention Center and started looking around.

The cosplayers were doing their thing — I saw a Minecraft character, a Pyramid-head from Silent Hill, and the usual assortment of DC and Marvel characters. Traffic seemed a bit lighter than usual, and things appeared quieter in general. We’ll see if that holds up.

The Spawn grabbed a Squiddle plushie and a “Baby’s First Mythos” book, while I found a pulp-style comic and a multilayered ghost story graphic novel. After a couple of hours of this, we decided to call it a day and came back here.

It’s now Saturday morning, and the Spawn is getting ready for her own go at cosplay. Further reports to come.
