Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat Memes…

A Facebook friend of mine posted the following this evening:

dstelection

As it happens, I can get behind this one. From Wiki:

Johnson went from his victory in the 1964 election to launch the Great Society program at home, signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and starting the War on Poverty. He also escalated the Vietnam War, which eroded his popularity. By 1968, Johnson’s popularity had declined and the Democrats became so split over his candidacy that he withdrew as a candidate.

I certainly don’t want to see three out of four of those again. On the other hand, if it means we get another year of 1966-quality rock and roll in a couple of years, I’d give it some thought.
