My Ph.D. institution‘s athletic teams are known as the Cardinals, and have been since 1927. But they had sports teams before then (back when we were known as the Indiana State Normal School, Eastern Division) — men’s basketball began in 1920, two years after the school’s establishment, and football started in 1924, and because 2018 marks the university’s centenary, a game next week will celebrate those long gone teams, when the men face Central Michigan, followed by a women’s game against Toledo.
Ladies and gentlemen, your Ball State Hoosieroons!
Chirp, Chirp!
